The 1972 Summer Olympics saw Spitz win 7 gold medals and set world records in each of those 7 events. In 1973, Dassler started Arena to make state-of-the-art athletic swimwear, recruiting top athletes to help him with design. The result was Skinfit, a super-light fabric made to fit the swimmer’s body like another layer of skin.
Today the Arena swimwear company is still sticking to that dream. They work with athletes, research centers, and universities all over to find out how to make swimmers faster and better. Their product line is constantly evolving.
